Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Benjamin Bjerke of BoulderCentre for Orthopedics

Benjamin Bjerke, MD, is a minimally invasive spine surgeon at BoulderCentre for Orthopedics in Boulder, Colo.

Dr. Bjerke received his medical degree from New York City-based Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and underwent combined neurosurgery and orthopedic spine surgery fellowship training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He specializes in minimally invasive cervical and lumbar spine procedures.

Dr. Bjerke has authored multiple publications for Spine, The Spine Journal and other peer-reviewed journals.He serves as a reviewer for HHS Journal as well as The Bone & Joint Journal. He has completed three volunteer surgical missions with FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital in Ghana, West Africa. Dr. Bjerke serves as a team physician for the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team, speaks fluent Spanish and enjoys athletics in his spare time.
