Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Wellington Hsu of Northwestern Medicine

Wellington K. Hsu, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at Chicago-based Northwestern Center for Comprehensive Orthopaedic and Spine Care.

Dr. Hsu is an associate professor of orthopedic and neurological surgery at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. He specializes in degenerative spine surgery, cervical spine surgery, spine trauma and spinal cord injury, spine tumors and infections. 

He received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tenn., and underwent spine surgery and spinal cord injury fellowship training at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison. His research focuses on developing nanomaterials and 3D printing methods to produce bone graft substitutes.
