Olawale Sulaiman, MD, PhD, is a spine surgeon at the Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans.
Dr. Sulaiman serves as the hospital's chairman for the neurosurgery department and back and spine center. He also leads the nerve and spinal cord regeneration translation research laboratory at Ochsner.
Board certified in neurosurgery, Dr. Sulaiman underwent fellowship training in complex nerve reconstruction at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans. He later completed additional fellowship training in complex spine surgery at the Milwaukee-based Medical College of Wisconsin.
Dr. Sulaiman earned his medical degree from the Medical University in Bulgaria and completed his residency at the University of Manitoba In Winnipeg, Canada.
