Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Richard Chua of Northwest NeuroSpecialists

Richard Chua, MD, is a spine surgeon at Northwest NeuroSpecialists in Tucson, Ariz.

Previously, Dr. Chua served as chief medical informatics officer, chief of surgery and chief of neurosurgery at the Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz. He is a founding member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery.

 

Board certified in neurosurgery, Dr. Chua's special interests include minimally invasive spine surgery, degenerative spine disease, motion preservation techniques, brain tumor surgery, aneurysm surgery and pituitary tumor surgery.

 

Dr. Chua is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, Arizona Medical Association, Arizona Neurosurgical Society and Council of State Neurosurgical Societies.

 

Dr. Chua earned his medical degree and completed his residency at Indian University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He underwent fellowship training at the Chicago-based American College of Surgeons.
