Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Frank Phillips of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush

Frank Phillips, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.

Dr. Phillips is a founder, board member and past president of the Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. He currently serves as professor of orthopedic surgery and director of the division of spine surgery at Rush. He specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery, cervical reconstruction and intervertebral disc biology and regeneration.

 

Dr. Phillips graduated from the University of Witwatersrand Medical School in South African before completing his orthopedic surgery residency at University of Chicago Hospitals and his orthopedic surgery fellowship at Cleveland-based Case Western Reserve.
