Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Gil Tepper of Miracle Mile Medical Center

Gil Tepper, MD, is the director of Valley Spine Center in Sherman Oaks, Calif., and The Spine Institute at Miracle Mile Medical Center in Los Angeles. He is a partner as well as president and CEO of MMMC. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also a member of the North American Spine Society.

Dr. Tepper has lectured both nationally and internationally on surgical and non-surgical management techniques for cervical and lumbar conditions. Additionally, he serves in a clinical teaching role in the department of orthopedic surgery at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles and also performs spinal reconstruction surgeries in collaboration with UCLA's department of neurosurgery.

 

Dr. Tepper has served as a principal clinical investigator for several FDA investigations. He is also on the medical advisory board member for K2M, a spinal implant company. He was instrumental in the development and launch of the Virtual Physician's Network Mobile App Technology, which is a mobile healthcare business app that offers a fully integrated virtual event and professional network platform.

 

Dr. Tepper earned his medical degree at Chicago Medical School and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New York. He has also completed a fellowship in lumbar spine surgery at Long Beach (Calif.) Memorial Medical Center under Leon Wiltse, MD. He then completed a cervical spine surgery fellowship at UC Irvine/Long Beach VA Medical Center.
