Zimmer Biomet pledges $100k to OREF for orthopedic research: 5 key notes

Zimmer Biomet gave a large donation pledge to the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Zimmer Biomet pledged up to $100,000 in matching funds to OREF. The company has donated more than $6 million to OREF in programs funding, awards and grants.

 

2. Zimmer Biomet will help underwrite OREF’s grant administration consts, donating 10 cents for every dollar individual donors give to the organization.

 

3. In the past, Zimmer Biomet has partnered with OREF for the Career Development Award, Clinician Development Program, young Investigator Grants, New Investigator grants, resident research symposia and collaborative research agenda in hip/knee and trauma.

 

4. OREF’s mission is to support orthopedic research and new investigators.

 

5. The research OREF supports is peer reviewed and the administrative overhead for the grants is low.
