Here are five key notes:
1. Mr. Delp will assume the role of president, Americas, previously held by Stuart G. Kleopfer, who decided to retire. Mr. Kleopfer was a leader with Biomet before the merger with Zimmer.
2. The leadership transition will take place Jan. 23, 2017. Mr. Kleopfer will continue with the company for a time and work closely with Mr. Delp as he fully assumes his new responsibilities.
3. Mr. Delp has previous experience as Zimmer Biomet’s vice president of U.S. sales where he led the sales for the knee, hip, bone cement, biologics, extremities, sports medicine, foot and ankle, surgical and trauma categories.
4. Mr. Delp has more than 20 years of experience in sales leadership.
5. Zimmer Biomet currently has operations in 25 countries and sells products in 100-plus countries.
