This year, SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital-Lake St. Louis, Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, Colo., and Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tenn., have all added the Flash system. Flash has also hit the ground running in Europe with units installed across Germany and Switzerland.
The Flash system, a $500,000 investment, was approved for neurological surgery in 2016 and has expanded to spine surgery. It uses visible light instead of radiation to create a 3D image for surgical navigation.
In December 2020, the company announced its 50th unit was sold across six countries. In March, SeaSpine entered a deal to acquire 7D Surgical for $110 million.
