The technology will be incorporated into the company’s SpineJack implant, a minimally invasive device for treatment of vertebral compression factures. The orthopedic cement technology will allow Vexim to expand its presence in vertebroplasty. Injecting cement into the vertebra will also allow surgery to be performed on cases where stabilizing the fracture and eliminating pain are priorities, according to the report.
The system is scheduled to launch simultaneously in Europe and the U.S. in 2014.
