The procedure was performed at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center. The MAS-TLIF system allows surgeons to compress and distract the bones of the spine through a 1.25 inch incision, while helping them to avoid nerve damage during the procedure, according to the report.

“I am proud of the excellent spine care that we provide to our mountain community and I am honored to have had the opportunity to introduce this new technology in Summit County,” Dr. Poulter said in the release.
