Four things to know:
1. The orthopedic device company estimates the new project will cost around $3.8 million and add 44 jobs to its facilities in Bethlehem, Pa.
2. The new 35,000-square-foot building will be more manufacturing space. The company has released 14 spine devices and 25 other orthopedic systems over the past seven years.
3. Tyber Medical received a Pennsylvania First grant totaling $100,000 and $132,000 job creation tax credit on the project.
4. In March, Tyber received a National Science Foundation Small Business Innovation Research grant of $225,000 for research and development into preventing surgical site infection during orthopedic procedures.
