Lisa A. Fortier, DVM, PhD, a veterinarian, joined Dallas-based TissueGen’s scientific advisory board.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. TissueGen develops ELUTE fiber, which is a biodegradable fiber format for advanced drug delivery, nerve regeneration and tissue engineering.

 

2. Dr. Fortier teaches at Ithaca, N.Y.-based Cornell University.

 

3. She specializes in translation research in topics such as preventing post-traumatic osteoarthritis.

 

4. Her work has also focused on clinically applying stem cells and biologics for cartilage repair and tendinosis.

 

5. Dr. Fortier currently serves as vice president of the International Veterinary Regenerative Medicine Society.
