The pandemic’s influence on orthopedic vendor relationships: 3 findings

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons asked surgeons to report how they think COVID-19 will affect interactions with industry sales representatives.

In May, AAOS distributed a series of surveys and received 1,523 responses.

Three things to know:

1. Nearly half of the AAOS members surveyed said they don’t expect interactions with sales reps to change.

2. One-fourth of respondents said they want representatives to be tested for COVID-19 antibodies.

3. Twenty-seven percent advise sales reps to bring their own personal protective equipment.
