TDi ultrasound system gains clearance for spine surgery

The FDA on April 14 granted TDi 510(k) clearance for its SonoVision ultrasound system for spine surgery.

Three things to know:

1. SonoVision features machine-learning capabilities to improve intraoperative access to the spine.

2. The ultrasound device uses image-processing to differentiate between nerve, muscle, bone and vessels in real-time.

3. TDi is working to expand SonoVision’s applications to 3D imaging, image-guided navigation integration and posterior access to the spine.
