The e-TLIF integrates spinal fusion with nerve stimulation, according to a March 3 press release sent to Becker’s.
The procedure aims to treat lower back and neuropathic leg pain. The study included 15 surgery patients who recently had a one-year follow-up.
The new patient study will support SynferFuse’s breakthrough status application with the FDA.
Principal investigators include Michael Park, MD, PhD, associate professor of neurosurgery at the University of Minnesota and Deepak Reddy, MD, a surgeon at South Bend Orthopaedics.
Co-investigators leading the study include Rohan Lall, MD, chief medical officer at SynerFuse and a spine surgeon with M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center, Jonathan Sembrano, MD, associate professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Minnesota and Matthew Hunt, MD, surgeon at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center.
