Surgalign reaches 100 cases with spinal fixation system

Surgalign reached 100 cases with the Cortera spinal fixation system, the devicemaker said Dec. 15.

Cortera earned FDA clearance in August and was introduced in a limited release, according to a news release. It is a posterior fixation platform designed based on feedback from spine surgeons. Cortera has modules for open and minimally invasive spine surgery.

Surgalign plans to further develop the Cortera, including integration with the Holo Portal guidance system. Cortera is Surgalisgn’s first organically developed product.
