Stryker Reports Q4 Earnings Up 43%, Year-End Earnings Down 22.5%

Stryker reported year-end net earnings of just more than $1 billion, down 22.5 percent from 2012’s net earnings of $1.3 billion.

However, the company’s fourth quarter saw earnings jump 43 percent over the same period in 2012 to $386 million. 

The company’s operating income was up 16 percent in the fourth quarter, from $370 million in 2012 to $430 million in 2013. However, the operating income for the year was still down 27.9 percent and reported as $1.3 billion.

Stryker also reported strong fourth quarter sales, and spine accounted for $197 million, up nearly 3.7 percent from $190 million during the same period last year.
