“[The United States] are not producing enough high school and college graduates who are ready to do outstanding work,” Mr. MacMillan said at the annual meeting of the Kalamazoo Regional Chamber of Commerce.

He also pointed out high school and college graduates will have to eventually compete with competitors from India, China and other countries. Steward Sandstrom, president and CEO of the chamber, has urged local businesses to become more involved in education in order to help young adults become prepared in an increasingly competitive global environment.
