St. Jude Medical names Zimmer Biomet’s David Dvorak to board — 5 key points

St. Jude Medical appointed President and CEO of Zimmer Biomet David Dvorak to its board of directors.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Mr. Dvorak joined Zimmer in December 2001 and served in many executive roles, including Group President of Global Businesses and General Counsel.

 

2. He is currently on the board of directors for Advanced Medical Technology Association. He has been chairman of the AdvaMed board.

 

3. He was a leader at Zimmer through its recent acquisition of Biomet, placing the combined company among the giants in the orthopedic device space.

 

4. He also spent time as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of STERIS before joining Zimmer. In his early career, Mr. Dvorak practiced corporate law focusing on mergers and acquisitions, and on securities law.

 

5. He earned his JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law where he was elected to the order of the Coif.
