Spinal Elements gets green light for cervical fixation device

The FDA on July 2 granted 510(k) clearance for Spinal Elements’ Sapphire X anterior cervical fixation system.

Three things to know:

1. Sapphire X features high angulation screws and integrated instrumentation to protect skeletal and muscle tissue.

2. The low-overhang implant offers a single-step insertion of the interbody spacer and anterior plate.

3. Spinal Elements plans to launch the product in the coming months.
