Smith & Nephew to showcase REDAPT revision acetabular cup at AAOS 2016: 4 takeaways

Smith & Nephew will showcase its new REDAPT Revision Acetabular Fully Porous Cup with CONCELOC Technology at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, from March 1 to March 5, in Orlando, Fla.

Here are four takeaways:

 

1. The new REDAPT cup is designed for use in revision cases where compromised bone makes implant fixation and stability more difficult.  

 

2. The new cup also uses the new REDAPT Variable Angle Locking Screws.

 

3. The CONCELOC Advanced Porous Titanium technology is an alternative to external porous coatings.

 

4. Smith & Nephew received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for the product in November 2015.
