Smith & Nephew to Purchase ArthroCare for $1.7B

Smith & Nephew has agreed to acquire ArthroCare for $1.7 billion or $48.25 per share in cash.

The acquisition will strengthen Smith & Nephew’s global sports medicine business. ArthroCare is an Austin, Texas-based medical device company.
