Smith+Nephew introduces Aria platform to boost orthopedic patient care

Smith+Nephew has launched its Aria digital platform to connect delivery of patient care with providers throughout the surgical and clinical episode, according to an Aug. 25 announcement.

Four things to know:

1. The platform is designed to strengthen Smith+Nephew’s global orthopedics business unit.

2. Aria aims to help reduce patient post-acute recovery time, create strategies to decrease costs, and provide patient-reported outcome measures and satisfaction data to better define value for the patient and site of care.

3. The application features customizable patient engagement tools and streamlines automated communication between the patient and care navigator.

4. The application provides secure communication with referring providers and compiles data that ASCs or clinical practices can use to communicate with payers.
