Smith & Nephew acquire Rotation Medical for $210M: 4 key points

Smith & Nephew completed the acquisition tissue regeneration developer Rotation Medical for $210 million.

1. The acquisition costs include $125 million up front and up to an additional $85 million over the next five years, which is contingent on financial performance.

 

2. Rotation Medical is the developer of an innovative tissue regeneration technology for shoulder rotator cuff repair. Smith & Nephew believes the system will compliment its current shoulder repair technologies portfolio.

 

3. Rotation Medical’s regeneration technology will be sold through Smith & Nephew’s sports medicine task force and the integrated Rotation Medical sales team.

 

4. The rotator cuff repair technology is approved for sale in the U.S., and Smith & Nephew filed for approval in Europe.
