Siemens Healthineers has incorporated Vuze2 guidance software for spinal surgery into its Cios Spin C-arm system.
The software supports K-wire placement for pedicle screws by combining preoperative CT or intraoperative cone-beam CT images with intraoperative X-ray images. It does not require external tracking hardware such as optical cameras, instrument markers or physical reference frames attached to patients, according to a Sept. 8 news release.
Siemens plans to expand the software’s integration to its other 2D mobile, 3D mobile and 3D robotic C-arms.
The company acquired Vuze in 2025 after a long-term collaboration, according to the release.
