SeaSpine earns FDA clearance for Mariner Posterior Fixation System: 5 highlights

The FDA cleared Carlsbad, Calif.-based SeaSpine’s Mariner Posterior Fixation System.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. The Mariner Posterior Fixation System features a pedicle screw system with modular thread technology.

 

2. The system is intended to decrease the volume of surgery trays during posterior lumbar fixation.

 

3. The system includes in-situ modularity, motion limiting heads and various rod choices.

 

4. SeaSpine initiated a limited launch of the system with initial cases.

 

5. The company plans a full commercial launch of the Mariner system in the first half of 2017.
