SAIL Fusion’s SI joint fusion system gets FDA nod

SAIL Fusion earned FDA clearance for its BowTie sacroiliac joint fusion system, the devicemaker said April 23.

The minimally invasive system is the first SI fusion technology based on validated joint fusion principles set by the AO Foundation, according to a news release. It also incorporates intra-articular and transfixing components.

The system is expected to launch to a select group of surgeons before expanding in the coming months, the company said.
