Rush Foundation Hospital 1st in region to offer MAKOplasty procedures: 4 notes

Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Miss., is the first in the region to offer MAKOplasty procedures, according to a Meridian Star report.

Here are four notes:

 

1. MAKOplasty procedures are performed using the RIO Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System and the Navio Surgical System.

 

2. MAKOplasty is used for partial knee replacement surgery and total hip replacement surgery.

 

3. The RIO system provides visualization of the joint and biomechanical data for the surgeon to match the pre-surgical plan.

 

4. Gus A. Rush, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Rush Foundation, is the first surgeon in the state to use the new Navio equipment.
