Pixee Medical completes AR-assisted total knee replacement

The first total knee replacement using Pixee Medical’s Knee+ augmented reality system was recently completed in France.

Three things to know:

1. Knee+ is used in combination with the Vuzix M400 AR Smart Glasses, developed by the orthopedic device company, to assist surgeons with accurate implant placement.

2. The AR system is wireless and does not require disposables.

3. Pixee Medical expects to receive FDA approval for the device by the end of 2020.
