Medtronic announced it plans to eliminate 230 jobs from its Memphis, Tenn.-based spine division, according to a Pioneer Press report.

San Diego, Calif.-based NuVasive reported increased gross profits for the 2013 first quarter at $120.4 million, up 4.9 percent from the same period last year.

Carlsbad, Calif.-based Alphatec Spine reported a $32.7 million gross profit in the first quarter, up 2.9 percent from the $31.8 million gross profit during the same period last year.
