OrtoWay expands clinical usage of hydraulically powered device for spine surgery

Swedish spinal device manufacturer OrtoWay unveiled May 20 design improvements to extend the clinical usage of its hydraulically powered system for spine surgery.

The OrtoWell Distractor aims to enhance surgeon control when separating vertebral bodies and facilitate removal of the disc.

The system is designed for anterior and lateral surgery, including corpectomy, insertion of disc prosthesis, insertion of an anterior lumbar interbody fusion cage and spinal tumor surgery.

OrtoWell Distractor has been used in more than 50 spine surgeries worldwide.

OrtoWay is seeking investors to continue development and commercialize the product.
