OrthoWorx to create orthopedic medical device powerhouse in Indiana: 6 highlights

Several Indiana counties and towns are investing in Warsaw-based OrthoWorx to spur orthopedic device dominance in the state, according to News-Sentinel.

Here are six highlights:

 

1. The Allen County Commissioners will give more than $25,000 annually for the next six years to OrthoWorx.

 

2. Fort Wayne, Ind., will give $75,000 each year for the next six years.

 

3. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. is funding $1.2 million and Warsaw, Ind., is offering up $500,000.

 

4. With the funding, OrthoWorx will jumpstart an accelerator called AcceLinx, which will have a budget of $4.8 million.

 

5. AcceLinx’s mission will be to develop and manufacture new medical devices, creating a hub for orthopedic manufacturing.

 

6. AcceLinx will be headquartered in OrthoWorx’s Warsaw office.
