Orthopedic and Spine Device to Know: Microspeed Uni from Aesculap Power Systems

The microspeed uni electrical system, produced by Aesculap, a B. Braun company, is a universal high-speed system designed specifically for neurosurgery, spine, plastics and small bone applications. The system includes six motors to meet a variety of demands, adjustable acceleration and stopping and is made of durable titanium material.

The system also has high-speed hand pieces designed for quick hand piece exchanges and includes a patented automatic burr coupling and release mechanism. The low-speed hand pieces are designed for small bone surgery and offer a quick, keyless connection to the device.

The microspeed uni ECCOS is a specially designed holding and storage system allowing the mechanical cleaning of the power system. The power components are placed into holders in their optimum position with critical openings pointing diagonally downward for water to drain out.
