Orthofix recruits medtech CEO who led $1.1B sale to Medtronic

Implant manufacturer Orthofix has appointed Thomas West to its board of directors and its compensation and talent development committee.

Mr. West is CEO and president of Intersect ENT, a commercial stage drug-device company that agreed to a deal in August to be acquired by Medtronic for $1.1 billion.

Prior to Intersect ENT, he served as division president of diagnostic solutions at women’s health company Hologic.

Over a 23-year career at Johnson & Johnson, Mr. West held several domestic and international leadership roles, ending his tenure at the company in 2014 as worldwide vice president of strategy and business development for its diabetes solutions business.

Mr. West has an MBA in marketing and strategic management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
