Nuvectra reports 1k Algovita SCS implantations: 5 highlights

Nuvectra reported surgeons have implanted its Algovita Spinal Cord Stimulation system in 1,000 patients nationally.

1. The Algovita SCS system features patent-protected stretchable lead technology and the market’s smallest patient controller.

 

2. Algovita is FDA-approved and CE-marked for treating trunk and limb chronic intractable pain.

 

3. Giancarlo Barolat, MD, neuromodulation medical director at Denver-based Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center, completed the 1,000th procedure.

 

4. Equipped with four decades of neurostimulation therapy experience, Dr. Barolat has implanted 9,000-plus devices related to neurostimulation.

 

5. Dr. Barolat served two terms as president of International Neuromodulation Society, and was a founding member of the American Neuromodulation Society.
