Here are five takeaways:
1. The new LessRay software technology is designed to decrease surgical radiation exposure in the OR.
2. NuVasive acquired the LessRay technology from SafeRay Spine, a private company.
3. The technology leverages an algorithm for image registration and management of radiation exposure, as well as maintains high-quality, intraoperative images on existing C-Arm workflow.
4. NuVasive will unveil the software at the North American Spine Society annual meeting in Boston, from Oct. 26 to Oct. 29, where the company will also feature its Integrated Global Alignment platform, which now supports cervical alignment.
5. With the expanded iGA platform, NuVasive now offers a spinal alignment solution for all spine procedures. The technology aids surgeons in:
• Calculating cervical alignment and preoperatively planning
• Correcting and assessing the cervical spine intraoperatively
• Confirming postoperatively to align the preoperative plan and the intraoperative assessment
