NuVasive names Joan Stafslien EVP, general counsel: 5 key notes

NuVasive appointed Joan Stafslien executive vice president, general counsel.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Ms. Stafslien has more than 20 years of experience as a legal advisor to medical technology companies. She previously served as general counsel and corporate secretary for CareFusion.

 

2. In her new role, Ms. Stafslien will be responsible for overseeing NuVasive’s global legal function. She’ll report to Chairman and CEO Gregory T. Lucier.

 

3. Ms. Stafslien will have a spot on the company’s executive leadership team.

 

4. Throughout her career, Ms. Stafslien has experience leading the legal team of Cardinal Health and had a private practice with Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison.

 

5. She serves on the advisory board of the chemical and biological engineering department of Northwestern University in Chicago.
