NewVert Announces Results of Spine Market Survey

NewVert, a medical device company focused on minimally invasive spinal repair solutions, has released results from its international survey of spine surgeons focused on trend in lumbar discectomy.

Key findings of the survey included:

•    77 percent of respondents believe current lumbar discectomy surgical techniques require improvement in technology.

•    More than 80 percent of respondents report that repeat lumbar discectomy surgery is required in more than 15 percent of patients seen.

•    Once a repeat lumbar discectomy surgery is performed, nearly 90 percent of respondents report a third procedure in approximately 10 percent of patients seen.

•    More than half of respondents also believe NewVert’s Octopus Spinal Annular Repair System have the potential to reduce the risk of repeat operations after lumbar discectomy.
