MRI Interventions partners with Clinical Laserthermia Systems to develop spine & navigation platform: 3 notes

MRI Interventions entered into an agreement with Lund, Sweden-based Clinical Laserthermia Systems to develop global navigation and laser ablation platforms for spine and neurosurgery.

Here are three things to know:

1. Through its collaboration with CLS, MRI Interventions President and CEO Joe Burnett said the company can move into the minimally invasive neurosurgery space with its new navigation and laser ablation therapy offerings.

2. Mr. Burnett estimates the formal launch of the combined platform will occur in 2020.

3. CLS currently has FDA clearance for its Thermal Therapy System, a laser system for soft tissue ablation.
