Caduceus S is designed to help surgeons set spine positioning fixtures and generate preoperative plans. The technology is in the FDA’s final review process.
The Caduceus S spine navigation system features an AR/MR head-mounted display that superimposes a 3D model of the patient’s spine, so surgeons can better understand the entry point, calculation of depth and angle of the instrument used — the surgical drills or pedicle screws being implanted.
The technology could reduce the learning curve in spine surgery and improve workflow in the OR, the company said in an Aug. 5 news release.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
