Medtronic’s Inceptiv closed-loop spinal cord stimulator earns FDA approval

Medtronic earned FDA approval for its Inceptiv closed-loop spinal cord stimulator, the company said April 26.

The rechargeable spinal cord stimulator is designed for patients with chronic pain, and it is Medtronic’s first closed-loop device. It senses biological signals along the spinal cord and adjusts stimulation in real time.

The device will be launched in the U.S. soon. It already has approval in Europe and Japan.
