The new system is designed for one-level ACDF. The system’s plate and interbody cage can be inserted simultaneously with a common set of instruments and one surgical technique. This is different from the traditional approach using a four-hole plate and interbody fusion cage that require a two-step insertion technique.
The DIVERGENCE system also incorporates a laterally-divergent screw insertion technique, which requires less retraction than traditional medially-convergent screw insertion techniques.
