Medtronic Cuts 268 Jobs in Minnesota, Blames Sluggish Spine Surgery, Heart Market

Medical technology giant Medtronic has confirmed that 268 jobs have been cut in response to “sluggish market conditions” for heart defibrillators and spine devices, according to a Star Tribune news report.

The job cuts are part of a worldwide restructuring and come after Medtronic announced earlier this year that it would be cutting up to 2,000 positions around the world, representing 4-5 percent of its worldwide workforce, according to the news report.
