The move to cancel Premier’s contract comes after Medtronic cancelled five contracts, worth $2 billion, with Novation that covered cardiovascular and orthopedic products. Medtronic reportedly cancelled the contracts with the GPOs to deal directly with hospitals rather than through national contracts.
