MedTech revenue up 73%; 34 ROSA robots sold in 2016: 7 key notes

MedTech reported financial results for its fourth quarter and full year ended June 30, 2016, on the heels of Zimmer Biomet announcing plans to acquire majority stake in the company.

1. MedTech reported a 73 percent increase in revenue for the full year 2016, from $7.2 million in 2015 to $12.3 million in 2016.

 

2. The company’s fourth quarter 2016 revenue totaled $4.6 million.

 

3. MedTech had $19.6 million in cash available as of June 30, 2016.

 

4. As of the end of fiscal year 2016, there are 82 ROSA robots installed worldwide, up from 48 robots installed last year.

 

5. Of the 82 robots, 22 robots are installed in Europe, 43 in North America and 17 in the rest of the world.

 

6. MedTech sold 34 ROSA robots worldwide, including 22 in the United States, during fiscal year 2016.

 

7. In the fourth quarter of 2016, the company sold 13 robots worldwide.
