Medacta acquires Vivamed: 5 key notes

Castel San Pietro, Switzerland-based Medacta acquired Austrian distributor Vivamed.

Here are five key notes:

 

1. After the acquisition is finalized, Vivamed CEO and Co-founder Herbert Brandstatter will become Medacta Austria’s general manager.

 

2. The acquisition will strengthen Medacta’s presence in Austria. According to Medacta Founder and President Alberto Siccardi, the company’s growth requires a “substantial structural investment in the Austrian market.”

 

3. The two companies collaborated for 15 years before the acquisition.

 

4. Medacta’s product portfolio includes orthopedic implants, neurosurgical systems and instrumentation.

 

5. Medacta operates in more than 30 countries, growing over the past 10 years.
