Here are five things to know:
1. Consensus Orthopedics will now use Materialise’s ACO Hip Guide System, which includes 3D surgical planning software and patient-specific surgical guides for hip surgery.
2. Surgeons can use the software to preplan surgery based on the patient’s unique anatomy and structural damage. Based on the preoperative plan, the patient-specific guides are designed and 3D-printed for the surgery.
3. The patient-specific implants have a high rate of outcomes predictability.
4. Materialise has 25 years of experience in 3D planning and printing for medical applications, and now their technology will be available with the Consensus hip line.
5. The two companies also partner on a knee guide system for knee surgery procedures. They began the second partnership one month after announcing the first.
