Lima completes acquisition of Zimmer Biomet knee & elbow devices: 4 key notes

Lima Corporate has completed the acquisition of Zimmer Biomet’s Zimmer Unicompartmental High Flex Knee and Discovery Elbow System for the Japanese market.

Here are four key notes:

 

1. The agreement has been approved by the Japanese Fair Trade Commission.

 

2. As per the agreement, the products will now be fully integrated into the Lima portfolio and business.

 

3. Lima will also take over the supply chain.

 

4. “ZUK, now rebranded Physica ZUK, will open doors in Japan for our rapid expansion into the knee segment also supporting the expected 2016 launch of Physica system, a new total knee prosthesis. Regarding extremities, we have recognized awareness in total shoulder arthroplasty in Japan also following the launch of our Reverse Total Shoulder this year and the Discovery Elbow System will allow us to expand our position in this market,” said Luigi Ferrari, CEO of Lima Corporate.
