John McCarthy won’t stand for InVivo Therapeutics board re-election: 5 key notes

John A. McCarthy Jr., CEO of ZS Genetics decided to step away from the InVivo Therapeutics board of directors.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Mr. McCarthy decided not to stand for re-election on the board to devote more time to his role as CEO and director of Z Genetics. He is also involved in other business ventures.

 

2. Mr. McCarthy will continue to serve out his term until the conclusion of InVivo’s 2016 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.

 

3. Since April 2013, Mr. McCarthy has been on the board of directors and served as chairman of the audit committee. He has also been the non-executive chairman of the board.

 

4. InVivo focuses on the Neuro-Spinal Scaffold solution for patients with spinal cord injury. The device is placed in the decompressed and debrided injury epicenter to support appositional healing.

 

5. The company is currently conducting clinical trials for the FDA and received the Humanitarian Use Device designation.
